Now living in Brooklyn, Dr. Mikheyeva has been practicing as a gynecologist since 1988. She earned a medical degree from the Kharkov State Medical University in 1983. Later, she completed the Kharkov Medical Academy post-graduate education in Obstetrics and Gynecology. She also obtained her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from the College of Osteopathic Medicine in New York.
